Venetta Smithen

I'm a children's author and storyteller who creates books that celebrate Caribbean culture and make reading meaningful for young kids. My work focuses on ages 3–12, helping parents and teachers find stories that let children feel proud of their heritage while building a love of reading.

I write poetry and narrative books designed around what kids—and the adults teaching them—actually need: stories that teach, inspire pride, and make reading feel like a joy, not a chore.

I also help others navigate the self-publishing process and provide effective publishing consultation services.
