## About

I spent the first half of my career inside UK national security, including as a founding member of the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), investigating and tracking some of the most capable nation-state threat actors in the world. As Deputy Technical Director for Incident Management, I led the UK's national 24x7 incident response function, handling the country's most serious cyber incidents.

I took that experience into industry at Darktrace, where I spent five years building and growing the Global Threat Analysis function into a 100+ person team spanning multiple continents, with a $15M+ operational budget and a direct line into the C-suite. It's where I got to see where AI can benefit security operations - and also where humans are still absolutely vital.

I have experienced first hand the real threats organisations face, and with that comes a deep understanding of what works best to defend against them.
