## About

Ryan Appel is an artist and furniture maker whose work explores wood through sculpture, furniture, and select architectural interiors. Drawing on three decades of experience working with wood, his practice combines traditional craftsmanship with an ongoing exploration of form, movement, tension, and material.

His sculptural work approaches wood as more than a material to be controlled, allowing its grain, resistance, imperfections, and structural characteristics to become part of the conversation. Alongside his studio practice, Ryan creates one-of-a-kind furniture with the same emphasis on material, proportion, detail, and longevity.
