Most business owners I speak to suspect their customers are now asking ChatGPT who to call, and that the answer is not them. They are usually right.

I have worked in SEO since 1993 and founded Bigfoot Digital in 2009. I have grown online revenue for brands such as HSS Hire, from £4m to £6.2m a year in two years, and BOXT, from around £100k to over £1m a month.

For the last five years my focus has been AI search: making sure businesses show up when people ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini or Google’s AI Overviews for a recommendation. One client, a Las Vegas realtor, is now named by ChatGPT as a top agent in the city. One of those answers became four listings.
