I'm a biochemist and cancer researcher turned leadership coach. After earning my PhD and running an independent research program at the University of Arizona Cancer Center, when I stepped into my first leadership role, I struggled. Hiring a leadership coach was transformational. That experience is why I do this work now. For the past nine years, I've worked primarily with scientists and technical experts navigating the leadership side of their careers.
I approach coaching the same way I approached the lab: start with curiosity about what's getting in the way, form a hypothesis about what might shift it, design something you can actually try, then iterate based on results. I work with you on feedback and delegation, team dynamics, conflict resolution, influence, strategy, and visibility, and the specific challenges that come with leading people when you built your reputation on technical excellence.
