Helping students & practitioners understand & apply principles of biomechanics, motor control, & research methods.
I'm a Principal Lecturer at the University of Worcester where I teach biomechanics, motor control, & research methods at undergraduate & postgraduate level. I combine classroom & practical instruction with research supervision to help students apply biomechanical principles to real world scenarios using a combination of laboratory & field-based measurement techniques.
I have developed & led a variety of courses & also spent many years in the Senior Management Team as Head of Department. I earned a PhD in Neuroscience & Motor Control at the University of Birmingham & I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, holding Distinction level teaching qualifications in both Higher Education & Further Education settings.
With over 20 years in the practice & coaching of martial arts, I have a particular interest in training & conditioning for health, fitness, & well-being, & see sport & exercise education as a key component in the promotion of habitual physical activity & healthy living.
