About
I'm a certified recovery support specialist, recovery coach, motivational speaker, and author of From Pulpit to Presence. My work is grounded in lived experience, from serving as a pastor to struggling with alcohol addiction, losing much of what once defined me, and eventually finding a new way forward.
Today, I support people navigating recovery while also speaking and writing about resilience, identity, mindfulness, and the possibility of beginning again. As the founder of Awakening With Don®, I share personal reflections that explore what it means to live with greater awareness, honesty, and compassion.
I believe we're more than the best thing we've ever done, and we're also more than the worst. Through conversations, speaking engagements, and writing, I hope to help others recognize that meaningful change remains possible, regardless of where they've been.
