I help builders, buyers, and investors verify high-performance and autonomous craft: structure, propulsion, sea trials.
I'm a USCG-licensed Master Captain (100 GT, first licensed 1984) with 45+ years in high-performance marine work: aluminum hull design and fabrication, advanced composites, propulsion R&D, systems commissioning, and forensic marine survey.
I work with builders, owners, investors, and counsel on one question — does the vessel or the program actually perform as claimed? Pre-purchase risk assessment, sea-trial and acceptance criteria, root-cause diagnosis when a boat won't make its numbers, and technical diligence on a builder or design. I've published on sea-trial methodology and the performance baselines autonomous craft have to be measured against.
I've served as an expert witness and take plaintiff or defense work. Across twenty years running organized high-performance boating events, my safety record is zero claims.
Based in Muskoka, Ontario. Remote sessions, and on-site work across North America.
A working session on a specific vessel, build, or program — plus a written summary of findings and next steps within 24 hours. Bring drawings, survey findings, trial data, a spec you're being asked to accept, or a performance shortfall no one can explain. USCG Master Captain, 45+ years in aluminum and composite hull design, fabrication, propulsion R&D, commissioning, and forensic marine survey. Typical uses: pre-purchase risk, sea-trial and acceptance criteria, investor and counsel diligence.
