I help parents figure out why their child struggles with reading and what to do about it
I'm a reading specialist with a master's degree who helps parents understand where their child stands with reading and what to focus on next. I work with kids ages 3–15, combining the science of reading with personalized coaching to build real skills.
My expertise includes structured literacy, reading comprehension, and word fluency. I also coach on executive functioning and writing as they relate to reading development. I offer free reading assessments and consultations, then guide families through customized learning paths—whether through online coaching, in-person sessions here in New Orleans, or access to my curated reading library.
A 30 minute virtual visit for Pre-K through Grade 2. I read The Vowel Story aloud, lead a guided literacy conversation, and take questions from students. Classes are grouped by similar grade levels. Schools can send home a family book order form, and signed books are $20 each. Every teacher at a host school gets a 30-day pass to the Reading Library.
Strong readers also need strong habits. This program is eleven 30-minute sessions built on Student Smart Skills. Together we work on planning, organizing, starting tasks, and following through. Each session builds on the last, like tending a garden week by week. The program is $495 for all eleven sessions, or $50 per session.
Room to teach, practice, and practice again. Each session starts with a quick check-in, then explicit instruction, then guided practice where your reader does the work with support. We finish by naming what helped. This length suits most readers in Kindergarten through Grade 3. Small, steady growth, one reader at a time.
